THE ENERGY LIBRARY
Welcome to the Energy Library — a growing collection of technologies, inventors, experiments, discoveries and unusual ideas related to energy and the ways people have tried to understand, capture, store and use it.
Some ideas on these shelves became accepted science. Some remain controversial. Some failed completely. Others may simply have asked an interesting question at the wrong time.
We include it because it's worth understanding.”
CHOOSE A SHELF
The collection will grow as new subjects, experiments and forgotten ideas find their way into the Lab.
ELECTRICITY & STORAGE
Batteries, capacitors, generators, iron-air cells, energy storage and unusual electrical systems — from the familiar to the experimental.
SOLAR, WIND & NATURAL ENERGY
Sunlight, wind, flowing water, geothermal heat and other ways of collecting energy already moving through the world around us.
MOTORS & GENERATORS
Motors, alternators, generators, magnetic systems and the important difference between creating energy and converting energy.
HYDROGEN & HHO
Electrolysis, hydrogen production, HHO experiments, fuel supplementation and the difference between what we observe and what the measurements actually show.
INVENTORS & THEIR IDEAS
Tesla. Edison. Faraday. Ford. Stanley Meyer. Famous names, forgotten names and ordinary people who looked at the world and wondered whether something could be done differently.
Their inclusion in the Library is not an endorsement of every claim. We'll distinguish between documented achievement, reported claims and what has actually been demonstrated.
FORGOTTEN TECHNOLOGY
Old patents, abandoned experiments, obsolete machines and ideas that disappeared from common use but may still have something to teach us.
BACKYARD SCIENCE
Experiments ordinary people can build, observe and measure without a million-dollar laboratory or a string of letters after their name.
CLAIMS WORTH INVESTIGATING
Over-unity, perpetual-motion and so-called free-energy claims examined without ridicule — but also without giving extraordinary claims a free pass.
THE BASICS
Energy, power, efficiency, entropy, heat, electricity and other fundamentals that help us understand what an experiment is actually telling us.
BE CURIOUS — BUT BRING YOUR MEASURING TAPE.
An open mind doesn't mean accepting every claim. A skeptical mind doesn't mean rejecting every unusual idea. Here we try to leave room for both curiosity and measurement.
THIS LIBRARY WILL NEVER REALLY BE FINISHED.
Technology changes. Old ideas are rediscovered. New experiments raise new questions. If you know of an inventor, technology, experiment or forgotten idea that belongs on these shelves, send it to the Lab.
